PLANNING POLICY REVIEW

Tendring District Council is reviewing the Local Plan

Tendring’s Local Plan is the blueprint for new development across the District and contains the rules and policies against which planning applications are assessed. TDC is in the process of reviewing and updating the Local Plan to ensure it remains up-to-date and complies with national planning policy.

March 2025  Public Consultation TDC invited the  public to express their views on the Issues and Options to be considered for the future of Tendring. A series of Public Drop-in exhibitions are to be held between 17th- 26th March 2025 to find out more about the consultation and to discuss the Local Plan with planning officers. All events 3pm - 7pm. The deadline for responses is 5pm 14th April 2025.

December 2025 Public Announcement : Tendring District Council has published a draft spatial strategy which proposes expansion of most of the district’s towns and villages, and new settlements along the A120. The draft proposals include a new housing site for 30 dwellings on land north of Rectory Road, Wrabness. Town and parish councils are to be informally consulted on the spacial strategy and public consultation on the full Local Plan update is expected later in 2026.
